All Aboard! Matt Mulvey comes out strong for new railways in South Shore

June 16, 2006 By weymouthdems

At the Plymouth County Democratic League meeting yesterday in Wareham, Matt Mulvey, Democratic Candidate for State Senate, announced his support for new transportation services along with the Greenbush rail in the Plymouth-Norfolk district.  Mulvey believes the new MBTA line should be expedited in order to expand the local economy, relieve increasing congestion and help improve the environment.  Matt’s proposal includes clean energy cross town bus services throughout the district, to improve accessibility to the line, and assure that we are not creating more pollution.  Senator Marc Pacheco also attended the event and spoke out in favor of the railway plan, and encouraged attendees to see the new Al Gore movie An Inconvenient Truth, about global warming.  Matt Mulvey is running for State Senate in the Plymouth Norfolk district, and believes strongly in environmental issues, as well as the use of stimulus projects to bolster local economies.  As Matt is both a Coast Guard auxiliary and senior figure in housing / building inspection projects throughout the region, he is well qualified to lead in these areas.  I encourage all of you to help out and read more about Matt at www.mattmulvey.com.  This is just the kind of bold leadership the Democratic party needs.
