I think perhaps one of the reasons for his being so inarticulate was that he was obviously trying to appeal to the good old boy types who enjoy Howie’s blather. In trying to relate to Howie’s audience he forgot how to speak intelligently.
Even though Howie has a large audience, I don’t think any Dem is served well by being on air with him.
For the record my guy’s Deval, so “maybe” I’m not objective. What did others think?

When I was driving home from work last night and stuck in traffic, I happened to catch Chris on Howie’s show. I was pleasantly surprised that Howie was as affable to Chris as he was. It is no secret that Howie does not usually support democrats; and yet, I thought relatively speaking Howie was conciliatory. As far as Chris’ prformance, I thought he did well. Frankly, your allegation that he was inarticulate is untrue. Chris answered both Howie’s and the caller’s questions with clear and concise details. When is Deval making his appearance on the Howie Carr show?

I just asked if anyone listened to Howie Carr.

Awfully touchy about Gabrieli, IMHO

Whether someone thought someone was inarticulate or not I don’t think can be labeled as “untrue”since it is entirely subjective.

You may not like what he has to say or support his candidacy but I think labeling Chris as inarticulate is more than just a stretch. In my opinion, it is UNTRUE. I would venture to say that a gentleman with the intellect and ability of Chris is never inarticulate. Chris does speak quickly. Maybe you just couldn’t keep up. Oh by the way my comment were directed at the original author, Dick Elrick

You asked if anyone listened and I answered that I had. Therefore, I was replying to you. HOWEVER, I also took the same space to respond to the post that preceded yours. I do not think that is an unusual practice and since there were only 2 posts prior to my original, I did not think anyone would be confused. Guess I was wrong.

Like it or not…there are plenty of voters and many of them Independents, who listen to the Howie Carr show. While we can sniff and say, “no self-respecting Democrat would go on the Howie Carr Show,” the fact of the matter is that it makes sense. It’s free advertising and it reaches voters. I have family members, all of them Independents, who listen to Howie, and while I do my best to innoculate them against most of the poison, they do value his opinion. Just like the kids today get their news from the Jon Stewart show, some folks do get their news from Howie. I think Gabs appearance on Howie Carr puts him on the radar screen for those voters…and that’s the name of the game.

Gabrieli was solid on Howie Carr. He’s not Bill Clinton, but no one is – not even Deval is, sorry DP fans. He is a straight shooter and better than most speakers/guests. Most of Howie’s loyal listeners are independents, conservative dems, or republicans. Trying to reach as many voters as possible makes sense – especially since most Independent voters will pull democratic ballots in September given the lack of compelling republican primaries in MA this season.
