1. The name she chose is French. Larry likes people to know he is smarter then everyone else. Hence a multi lingual response. (not a real point to my argument – just a throw-away joke)
2. Title of Comment is “Actually, You Might Consider Getting Your Facts Straight.”
Consistent with Larry’s way of confusing the facts or being insulting with specious arguments that go unchallenged. But Larry’s very use to going unchallenged. GOOO THEO!
The only facts I ever wrote about was how the thing got named. Everything else was my opinion. That is clear. She does not dispute the only facts I reported.
3.”I don’t have an opinion on the naming – Romney – Red Sox connection/controversy, so I’m not going to comment on that.”
ahh the gratuitous âHi Pat, first time caller, let me tell you about a restaurant I just discovered.”
4. Then she goes on “The land was already being used for youth athletic fields, but they were a wreck – worn down, poorly maintained, and because the drainage was so bad, they were flooded and unusable half the time.” and then says “from what I’ve been told, the fields are pretty well booked for most of the summer.”
Who the hell does she ‘talk to’ to know the fields have been booked? God, they make it so obvious.
So she tells Ernie the facts are wrong and her only point is that the place was a dump before and now it is nice. Great. Directed Verdict against Ernie.
Her basic point is, I think, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. And these people don’t have to spend their $$ on us. I respond, “IT’S A COOKBOOK!
Sacreblues, nothing aginst you. You had an assignment and you did a good job. But now you have me thinking about some other posts I may do in the future. Because you are a working stiff like most of us (and Larry has a reputation of Kissing Up and Shitting Down) I will give the heads-up on what you may expect to see from me so you can start thinking about the response Larry wants.
1. A perusal of the 2006 Red Sox Media Guide has photos of every major and minor league player coach and manager. Also photos of all scouts and everyone in front office. Hundreds of photos of ball players and civilians.
Let’s count the Black faces, shall we. Hmmmmm. Could the 2006 Boston Red Sox be reluctant to hire people of color? (Unless of course the hit home runs)
2. The Doug Mintkiewicz ball dispute. I have a little work to do for that one. Checking what happened to other balls before 2004. I just need names. Up until October 2004 any post game ball, including World Series belonged to whoever got it first. A NYC cop, I believe, got the Buckner ball. But Larry being Larry changed the rules AFTER THE FACT and made Doug out to be an a-hole. Then sued him for the ball so us fans could gaze at this particular baseball. How insulting and belittling to us fans. Forget about the facts, or custom, or what is right. (Larry also likes to flick his Bic Lighter at us fans. We have never seen anything like that before. âOh thank you white man for showing us the way.â)
3. Compare Theo to Larry. All one has to do is read Theoâs dad’s semi-autobiographical novel.
No surprises that Theo wanted out of Larryâs world. He knows it is all bullshit andf who his true friends are. But he came back, in my opinion, for one reason. John Henry asked him to. A reason a real man would return. Of course Larry has started his whispering campaign. (Theoâs cocky and non-appreciative for everything I have done for him. How about the bad signings and trades he made this winter.)
These things come to mind as I sit here this morning. I haven’t given it much more thought than that.
Anyone else have anything that comes to mind?

I have to tell you I am seriously, seriously amused by your response, Ernie.

I can assure you (not that you’re going to believe me, but whatever) that I am no Red Sox flack. Seriously, I couldn’t give two shits about the Red Sox involvement in any of this. (I tried to make that clear. Guess it didn’t work.)

I just know someone that worked on the drainage aspect of the new park (donated their services, by the by), and I was annoyed by your nasty commentary on the whole thing. As I said before, I think it’s a nice park, and a nice project.
<
p>
You’re right, I did just register yesterday. I read this site a lot, but I saw your posting and really wanted to reply, so I registered.
<
p>
Sacreblues? I just think it’s funny. Sacre bleu is sort of french for holy shit. Forgive me for my little verbal word plays.
<
p>
Anyway, I am thrilled to see that someone wasted what was clearly a lot of time responding angrily to my comments and creating a whole conspiracy theory. I might email this one to my mom, in case she thinks I’m not doing anything with my life.
<

Most sincerely,
a highly amused and generally harmless twenty-something

No time to write this at all. I am not in baseball, I have work in the real world. So writing is no problem. A little editing, but the subject matter writes itelf.
And i’m not buying your story.
<
p>
By the by, i never said it was not a nice park. Where did that come from?
Oh yeah, the “Larry Luchino School of Fooling Idiots”.
Say ‘hi’ to Larry for me. And Theo too. Unless if Larry sees you taklin’ to Theo you lose your job.
<
p>
Are you one the many super good looking young guys that Larry and Dr. Steinberg brought in from southern california? Handsome, yet easily controlled by Larry. Total Yes Man. But easy on some peoples’ eyes. Of course nothing is full proof. Theo taught Larry that.
<
p>
Keep earnin’ that pay check. You are doing a very good job.
<

Bye babes.
eb3-fka-ernie-boch-iii says
Show me where I ever said the park was not nice. That way I will understand what you disagree with. My point was the naming, of which you admit you know nothing.
Back up your argument and maybe people will believe you.
<
p>
But your last comment helps make my point.

Your future participation will decide your credibility…
<
p>
…first let me say that I generally find Ernie annoying–harmless but annoying. So, I’m no friend of Ernie (admittedly, I’m sure some people find me equally annoying).
<
p>
But there is only one way you’re going to prove Ernie wrong in my mind. If you continue to post on this site on a wide variety of issues, I’ll buy your, “I was a lurker and I just registered to reply to this” line.
<
p>
But if you turn out to be a “drive by poster” and you only weigh in on this issue and disappear, then Ernieâs case that you are a Rasky flack gets a lot stronger.
<
p>
I hope your not and for now, I take you word, welcome to the site and I look forward to reading your future posts.

Let’s snuff em’ out.

Nice. Blue Mass Groups own Big Brother. “We will decide if you are legitimate”. Since a number of people ‘gasp’ post on this sight without disclosing their affiliations, I’m not sure what the rules are. Is Greg the new Field Guy? Has Hoss taken on another assumed name?
frankskeffington says
Where in my posting do I use “we”. I simply outlined my criteria for me believing this person.
<
p>
Let other folks set there own marks as to whether they’ll believe SB.
<
p>
As for rules, if SB is a paid PR person BCD (Bob David Charlie) want them to disclose–just like you have. Folks like me–and SSL–don’t have to because we volunteer and don’t get paid by a candidate. But we do on occasion–just to be upfront. And if you’re trying to guess who I am–I’ll be clear about one thing–we’ve never met, at least not that I’m aware of. You don’t know me in real life. Not that I wouldn’t want to–you seem like a straight forward guy. I hope you don’t take to much offense from a rhetorical barb or two.
<
p>
Ya, Field Guy dropped off the face of BMG a long time ago–but unless Field Guy got a personality transplant, I don’t think he’s Greg (FG was much to angry–other AS folks, I being one–were also telling him to claim down.)
<
p>
As for Hoss…good question. I just went to masschange and noticed s/he (although I assume he’s a he, based on comments to SSL)hasn’t posted there since June 7th. A vacation maybe.
<
p>
But why bring up FG or Hoss on this posting? We’re talking baseball here (sorta).
