The Globe blog is reporting that the state AFL-CIO has decided not to endorse any of the three Democratic candidates for Governor:
The decision not to endorse follows two cycles in which the 400,000-member organization anointed Democrats in multi-candidate primaries: then-Senate President Thomas F. Birmingham in 2002, and then attorney general Scott Harshbarger in 1998.
In this year’s race, current AG Thomas F. Reilly and Deval L. Patrick have both bagged some labor support, including a couple of statewide organizations and several large locals. The third Democrat, Christopher F.O. Gabrieli, has yet to win any union endorsements but intends to seek support from individual unions in the future.
We can all talk about whether this matters or not, who it helps, who it hurts, blah blah blah. But here’s my question: what does “F.O.” stand for?

I’m just kidding, Gabrieli is a fine man and though he’s not my choice in the primary I wish him no ill will. That said, I hope you thought it was at least slightly humorous…
