According to the bloggers at Ned Lamont for Senate, Swing State Project, and other places, today 19 July is Blogosphere Day. These worthy folk argue, not especially convincingly in my opinion, that this day should be so commemorated because things have happened in the blogosphere on 19 July for each of the past two years. When do things not happen in the blogosphere. Nonetheless, why not celebrate! Happy Blogosphere Day one and all and remember, the Connecticut Primary Day is Tuesday 8 August, and Lamont is matching contributins dollar for dollar between now and then. This might be a good time to mention that ActBlue is not yet activated for state level races in Massachusetts.

I don’t think we’d be able to do anything about this before the primary and probably not even before the general, but I think it might be a worthy goal for us to help try to bring ActBlue to its home state.

is that the campaigns have to do it. But I don’t think there’s any reason they can’t.

They’re out of Cambridge, at least they were.

Anyway, here’s their state-level page. It seems like they need seed money to start up in a new state.
david says
A lot of seed money, apparently. I’m a bit confused by this – where does that $10K go? Maybe I’ll call them and get some more info on all this.
lynne says
If we’re satisfied it’s worthy (as in, the money is completely necessary), maybe we can make this a MA blogosphere priority for the next year?

I’m sure the totals are pretty slim now, but it would be great if you would check the “post the totals” checkbox on the ActBlue page. After all, we’re all about transparency and good data.

P.S. Check out the <a href="http://www.actblue.com/page/stomv"stomv ActBlue page, which focuses on getting more good technologists in government.

Have you checked out this guy, running against environmental villain Richard Pombo in CA? He is a PhD engineer and the CEO of a wind turbine start-up.
stomv says
He’s great stuff. I thought about adding him, but since I have Deval Patrick, I didn’t want to overload on wind power. Sure, you could argue that the other guy belongs on the list instead of DP, but I went with DP first and I figured I’d just keep him.

If McNerney wins, you can bet he’ll make the 2008 list for his re-election.
