Below is the text of an e-mail Ernie sent to D.A. Dan Conley’s office on June 21st. They have not responded. It was sent to the e-mail address identified on the D.A.s web site.

Sorry for e-mailing to this address. I do not have an e-mail address for your press officer.

I am requesting a comment on the following information which I have confirmed and will post in the very near future.
A former assistant district attorney in your office named ———, (name will not be published) received death threats from an individual — prosecuted. Your office has overwhelming evidence to indict and convict. Written correspondences telling an individual to kill ADA ——— were intercepted by prison officials. After that an incident occurred which would cause a reasonable person to suspect a connection. ADA ——– was forced to move from — residence. The ADA, who was a career prosecutor, has since left your office.
This is an open secret among a small group of many which includes defense attorneys, prosecutors, and judges.
Can you comment on this matter and, based on the Paul McLaughlin murder, has it caused any morale problems within the Suffolk County District Attorneys Office?
