The ConCon has rejected a constitutional amendment that would have extended House and Senate terms to four years. The vote was 66-126. They also overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to elect the Gov and Lt. Gov separately (12-182).
Next is a proposal to implement an independent redistricting commission, followed by another technical proposal dealing with ballot questions, and then vacancies in the Governor’s Council, limiting judicial appointments to six years (followed by an election to retain their office), and “establishing county government.” They’re getting weirder and weirder as we go along…

So does that mean that the four-year governor term amendment didn’t get enough signatures to go into the “ok with 1/4 of the convention votes” category that the health care and SSM amendments are in?
david says
These two were both “legislative amendments,” meaning that they were proposals to amend the Constitution that were introduced by legislators rather than via the initiative process. Legislative amendments need a majority vote to advance, but initiative amendments only need 25%. Health care and gay marriage are the only initiative amendments up for consideration; the rest are legislative.

no signatures at all were gathered for the 4-year term proposal, since it came from a legislator.

The proposal to extend legislative terms came from a legislator? I would never have guessed.

Do you know where I can find the text for these amendments?
