I’m not sure how much attention was given to New Hampshire threatening to sue Massachusetts over promised flood control money last week.
I didn’t give it much thought that Romney stood up and saluted to this demand within a day, folked over a big chunk of the money as a partial payment and promised to keep negotiating. UPDATE (by David): Romney agreed to arbitration on this, thereby avoiding embarrassing litigation which might have proceeded in the US Supreme Court which has original jurisdiction of disputes between states.
But a friend from New Hampshire recently pointed out to me–that quick reaction, of course, had NOTHING to with the 2008 Presidental Primary in New Hampshire. /Snark
Now, if Romney only reacted that fast when the 93 Tunnel flooded a couple of years ago and filed the same emergency legislation as he did last night–things may have been different today?
When will the frigging press focus on the level of politics Romney has been playing and call him on it? Everything this guy does is all about running for President and nothing else.
What is it going to take to wake up the press?

Symptomatic of the national press how they’ve given Bush a free ride on his BushShit.

Now we not only have BushShit we’ve got MittShit.
the reason for the pass is the local press corps wants to play big time again in 2008 and have a Presidental candidate to follow around agian. Keller, Heller, the Globe and, if they are around, the Herald. Beats covering a story that puts you into an unventilated tunnel in July!
Do you think these watchdogs of the public interest would really be capable of that?
