I’d love to see the number of unique visitors and returning visitors, aggregated weekly, over time. I would presume the site is slowly growing, but I’d love to see the trend, variance and all.

This goes all the way back to late 2004 when we started this thing. (“W6” or whatever refers to “Week 6” of a particular year.)

This is a little different than I expected. You guys really went “off the charts” this year. I mean you have always had great traffic but it seems that BMG as we know it really came into existance at the beginning of this year.

we left Typepad and went to the Soapblox platform in December of 2005. Within a month after the switch, traffic had basically tripled. We had hoped that switching platforms to a more community-based site would improve trafffic, but I think even we were surprised at how quickly and how dramatically it happened.

Awesome numbers guys! Do you guys know how the site defines “unique visitor?” I have never been able to figure that out. When I used stat counter I thought I read something about unique being any person who hasn’t visited the site in the last two hours or something like that.
david says
a “unique visitor” is either someone who has never been here before (“first-time visitor), or has been here before but not for I think four hours (“returning visitor”).
