Deval Patrick celebrated his 50th birthday in style yesterday. I’ve posted a report on my blog, and will try to have more pix up there when I get them.
By any measure, it was a huge success. I’m sure the Finance Committee was very happy, since lots of checks were written. Of equal importance, the enthusiastic crowd was composed of people from all walks of life, from our Member of Congress to local business folks, to students, to young people who offered to help with the campaign. Deval’s friends James Taylor and Yo-Yo Ma added a certain panache to the event, but it was mostly “just folks” — local Berkshire people whom you might encounter in local shops or in the course of going about your ordinary business.
