With the approaching showdown this fall in the SJC expect to see more voices joining those wanting a full investigation of whether Benjamin LaGuer got a raw deal when he was convicted of rape 23 years ago. He is still in prison because he won’t admit guilt.
Today Daniel L. Hartl, a Harvard biologist, wrote to State Representative Ellen Story (D-Amherst) expressing his concern over the validity of a 2002 DNA test that seemed to implicated LaGuer.
Read Hartl’s entire letter at www.BenLaGuer.com. The money quote is:
“There is, in my opinion, ample reason for a full inquiry into this case, and I hope that the Supreme Judicial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will agree.”
