A debate featuring the three Democratic Lt. Gov. candidates scheduled for Sept. 11 has been cancelled. Debates are still scheduled for Sept. 6 (on channel 2), and on Sept. 8 (on channel 5).
And don’t forget: you can enjoy BBQ from Redbones, comedy from Jimmy Tingle, and banter between Tingle and LG candidates Tim Murray and Andrea Silbert, in a BMG-sponsored event on Sept. 7. More fun – and better food – than you’ll get at the “official” debates!
UPDATE: Keller also has the LGs this weekend on channel 4: excerpts Sunday at 8:45 am on 4; whole thing at 10 am on 38.

I think when the Party’s forum was scheduled, there was a concern that no debates would happen.

But now since there are going to be 3 in the next week, perhaps they thought they wouldn’t need it? I dunno, I’d still do it, especially since the Globe wrote about it before and the MetroWest Daily News surely would cover it – perhaps the most important region for dems in November…

I guess the media will be looking at this weekend’s showdown for some “sparks” – which the media ALWAYS looks for in these downballot races, and usually finds them even when there aren’t any sparks to be had.

We know the Keller is a BMG reader (and I bet he’s even a poster under a pseudonym – which, of course, if fine my me!), so I wonder if he’ll challenge Deb on all the things people have been calling out about her here. She’s clearly the biggest target in a race like this, and we all know how much the media hates the rich kid and loves the underdog. I bet Keller offers up a couple of harsh questions to her regarding her Select-ive (pun intended) portrayal of her record.

Not sure Tim or Andrea have too much that Keller can attack in his smarmy way, but we all know how much he doubts politicians generally. While all of us have problems with Murray or Silbert’s credentials, neither has engaged in the alleged deception that Goldberg has been accused of doing.
