In light of the recent poll which shows the candidates neck-and-neck, one Gabrieli fan at Bay Windows says it’s all over but the cryin’:
Should Gabrieli be concerned? No, its worse than that. He should be preparing a possible concession speech, and I say that as someone who admires much of what he has to say and the fact that he was one of the first public figures in Massachusetts to support civil marriage rights for same-sex couples.
The thesis is that Patrick is weathering a distinct financial disadvantage quite well in the polls, and that Gabrieli has chucked away millions in past races. Well sure, that’s all true, but I don’t imagine Chris is splashing cold water on his face, swallowing hard, straightening his tie, and looking forward to that cocktail-the-size-of-his-head just yet. Anyone who believes that is falling for Patrick hype — which until its vaunted organization deploys on September 19, is just that. There are less than three weeks to go: It’s a day-by-day campaign now. No one has sealed the deal.
