The Patrick campaign can’t be overly thrilled to see this:
That’s Somerville “Mayor Joe” Curtatone (a Deval endorsor) standing tall with Kerry Healey behind a podium emblazoned with her campaign placard at a campaign event hosted in his City. Anything for a photo-op, eh, Mayor Joe!
The State House News Service caption:
Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone spoke along with Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey in front of the energy efficient Michael E. Capuano Early Childhood Center in Somerville regarding Healey’s energy efficiency plan. The plan calls for renewable energy sources and the use of energy efficient materials in order to keep energy supply above future demand
Mr. Mayor, if you are going to say things like this about your supposed candidate, you should at least insist that they take down the Healey-Hillman sign. Or maybe even telling Kerry Healey that you won’t allow you or your city to be used as a campaign prop. There’s an idea!
But for crying out loud, don’t say this stuff.
Otherwise, you look like you are hedging your bets, which is pretty weak.
Progressives of Somerville, unite!

Of course, the post would work much better if the photo worked! As you can surmise, it is a picture of Joe Curtatone at Kerry Healey’s campaign press conference to tout her energy plan. The event was hosted in Somerville.

I’ll keep working on the picture, which is on State House News Service. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Finally.

It sounds like you wanted to quote Curtatone about something but the link goes to a picture of Reilly in Barnstable.

My bad. I was having trouble with the pic and I inserted the wrong link. It’s corrected.

Maybe he’s friends with Richard C. Howard, and this is his revenge.

They’re probably trying to find a way to get Tim Murray behind this podium next.

What is wrong with this guy? Too cute by a half….
Let’s not pretend he did not know what the sign on the podium said…

Here’s what Curtatone himself says about it:

There are plenty of other Democrats out there, including a fair number of legislators, who might well prefer to have a Republican in the corner office, but Curtatone isn’t one of them.

Where did Deval’s organization go to celebrate Caucus Night? Somerville.
<

Who will Somerville vote for overwhemingly in the primary and final? Patrick.
<

This is an attempt to make something out of nothing — as I’m sure the Patrick campaign already knows.

One of the reasons Deval is a great candidate is that he isn’t petty. Maybe that’s one of the things Curtatone likes about him.
renaissance-man says
Granted I’m assuming since the city sponsored it, what was obviously a campaign event, was it not on city public property?
<
p>
The problem is that it wasn’t the Seal of the Lt. Governor on the podium, signifying it was an official visit from the Executive Branch, which I agree could have public officials in attendance.
<

There for all to see, on the podium is the official campaign placard of the Healey/Hillman campaign! Joe, tell us it wasn’t on city property, because I’d say if it was, it’s a violation of campaign and political finance regarding the use of public property for political purposes!!! Scoff as you will, I know public officials who have been repremanded for the same!

Inquiring minds want to know!
