In 1991 Mr. Lemire was the campaign manger for Edward J. McCormick III, a Republican who challenged U.S. Rep. Joseph D. Early, D-Worcester, in the 3rd Congressional District
Joseph D Early Jr. recently won by a 4-1 margin the Democratic Primary in the Worcester District Attonrey race which will make him the next DA as no republican candidate is listed on the November ballot.

June 10, 2006 DA Conte provided a letter the Worcester telegram sent by Assistant District Attorney James R. LeMire to Peter L. Ettenberg, Mr. LaGuer’s trial lawyer, on Dec. 13, 1983, indicating fingerprint reports had not yet been received by prosecutors.
Mr. Ettenberg wrote back to Mr. Lemire on Jan. 12, 1984, in which the defense lawyer asked if the fingerprint analysis had been returned.
We now know fingerprints had been taken and were in the custody of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to District Attorney John Conte.
In review it appears a Republican connection grows to be more visible in this nomination of a lifetime appointment to a Superior Court judgeship, rather than an exceptional legal career.
