A friend forwarded me an email a friend of hers had sent out to a bunch of people. I wrote the original sender and suggested he post it here on Blue Mass Group, and he asked if I’d post it for him because he’s not good with blogs or HTML. His name is John Cuetara.
Dear Folks,
Yesterday, while ordering lunch at the Sherman Cafe in Union Square in Somerville, I happened to bump into Deval Patrick, who was taking a break from the campaign. He was very friendly and discussed state and national politics with me for about 10 minutes while we waited for our sandwiches.
He seemed incredibly knowledgeable and articulate and was genuinely interested in my opinions. Unlike other politicians I’ve met, he didn’t seem self-absorbed and wasn’t looking over my shoulder for someone more interesting or important to talk to next. When I expressed confidence that he would win, he predicted it would be a very tight race.
Because of his clearly stated positions on issues like education, health care, civil rights, disability issues, gay marriage, etc., I already had his bumper sticker on my car. After this chance encounter, I’m more excited than ever about his candidacy and urge you to get out and vote for him in the primary this Tuesday.
Your political pal,
Dr. John
