There were also supporters joining us from SEIU and Neighbor to Neighbor. We even had a skateboarder in our group (who I nearly tripped over more than once!). Here are some of the pictures I took. I have some more up at flickr
Deval Patrick
Patrick supporters on the march
Having a great time at the parade
Gabrieli supporters stepped off a few groups behind us
Another picture of Gabrieli supporters
The Reilly group was much further back in the parade queue, so I didn’t see them until after our group was done.
Sherry Kerry Healey bussed (and I mean a BIG bus!) a large group of supporters who looked to be dressed alike (in brand-spanking-new looking t-shirts), carrying signs that were probably issued to them at the site. The signs were collected, stored in the bus, and off they went. I have no idea how their group was received.
I don’t believe that anyone was there from the Mihos campaign.
The parade was terrific. Perfect weather, not too hot. Deval Patrick got a great, enthusiastic response from the crowd. Several times we had to wait for him to catch up with us, because so many folks wanted to say hello, and shake his hand.
Were you at the parade? Share your story here.

All the presdiential candidates do the Amherst, NH Fourth of July parade. During the last presidential, Joe Lieberman was the only candidate who had so little support that he had to bus in kids from a local camp. Between that and the Joementum mobile with his (and his wife’s) huge head shots on the side, he was the joke of the day. People really do get the difference between fake political shows and reality.

But Susan, your picture of us Gabrieli people makes us look like a tiny group, when in fact there were about 50 of us (yes, all volunteers but for a few staffers). We too got very stretched out as Chris talked to parade-goers. Good times.

This picture was taken as our group pushed off. Your group was standing by to jump in. Which I believe they did right after the group directly behind us of Tim Murray supporters.

It was a great day. The weather was perfect.

We followed the directions of the parade official. We were in a different section of the parade to the other candidates because we had an RV with us. Which we were pleased with because it gave Chris some separation from the string of other candidates. Also, regarding lightiris’s comment below, I too wondered if Deval was there, because I didn’t see him when you guys turned the corner. Was he there from the beginning or did he arrive late?

As for pictures, I have some kind of mental block about remembering to bring my camera to these things. This is the price I pay.

I have a similar mental block about cameras. If I manage to remember it, I will inevitably forget the memory stick, or the batteries, or leave it in the car or something.

Common ground at last! đŸ˜‰

An authoritative voice last night claimed Patrick didn’t bother to show up at the Marlboro parade. Hmmm. Must have been in the back of the parade.

I love the photos (especially the first one–which the campaign should pick up immediately! Hint hint guys!)
