With 14 precious days until the 2006 primaries-the moment we’ve all been waiting for-I want to remind everyone at BMG to seize the opportunity, get off your duff, and participate in the most fundamental of all political actions. No, not blogging. Canvassing! Going from house to house, knocking on your neighbors door, looking them in the eye, telling them openly and boldly how you feel, who you want to lead your community, and why. Asking them how they feel, listening to their opinions and their ideas. Discussing, give and take. Offering friendly information for those who arent as informed. Spreading the bug of politics, the great addiction of participating in our shared futures.
Thats all. Stop reading. Dont hit discuss, dont add a comment, dont reply. Just pick your campaign and go!
Go!

I hope you will forgive me for commenting instead of canvassing…but it is 12:30 am and it is too late to canvass tonight. But I will be Canvassing Monday!

Funny, but you bring up a good point: Volunteering to phonebank can be just as useful as going canvassing, depending on the campaign. I think canvassing is more personally rewarding and interesting, but I’ve done a fair amount of phonebanking and it is definitely useful.
