In the year 2006, you can give up to:
$500 to Deval Patrick
$500 to Tim Murray
$5000 to the State Party
This is all handled by the “Victory Fund.” It’ll all head toward the governor’s race. If you’ve maxed out with Deval, it goes toward Tim Murray, and then the state party. If you were a Gabrieli or Reilly supporter, consider giving to Deval to help put a Democrat in the corner office.
Since the BMG Act Blue page doesn’t allow donating to Deval Patrick, I recommend you head over to Deval Patrick’s contribute page, where the nuances of giving are explained and you can enter your credit card quite conveniently.
Give what you can, and encourage your friends to help too.
Please share widely!

we hope you’ll consider using BMG’s “Team Patrick” page, rather than just going directly to the credit card page – that page keeps a running tally of how many people are donating through BMG.

I might edit the diary to reflect that — but I’ve heard rumors that it messes up with recommendations and whatnot. Your thoughts?
david says
once you’ve published the diary, it’s OK. The problem comes if you save it as a draft before publishing. So edit away!

I thought it was going to be about Green Issues such as Toyota prius’ and Cape Wind. Might be better to replace the word green with money on the post. More people will be likely to read one would think.

I saw someone suggest that theory in a post sometime recently, and I replied to shoot down the theory. As far as I could tell at the time, you didn’t know that’s the problem, you were just guessing based on circumstantial evidence, and I gave counter-evidence (also circumstantial). So, have you learned something new about the problem?

In another example of why Andrea Silbert deserved to finish ahead of Goldberg, I have heard that Silbert has already reached out to her finanace committee to begin raising money for the ticket. I also received an email thanking supporters, but also exhorting us to support Deval and Tim right away.

I’m sure she is disappointed with the finish, but Andrea is doing the absolutely right thing to get the Patrick/Murray ticket by tapping her donors. Compare that to Goldberg, who tried to bribe people into voting for her by promising a million if she’s elected.

Shame on the party for letting a clown like Goldberg in the race in the first place. Anyone who saw the debate with just Tim Murray and Andrea Silbert knows that they were the only people of substance in this race and, while I think Murray still would’ve prevailed due to his organization, it would’ve been alot closer and Andrea never would’ve had to suffer b/c of an anti-Goldberg vote.

I was an Andrea Silbert supporter during the primary, but I think your comment about Deb Goldberg was really unnecessary. The primary is over. The people have spoken. I hope all the people who supported and/or voted for Deb Goldberg will now help out on the other campaigns. By the way, Deb Goldberg got the most votes in my town, Saugus, out of any candidate in the primary. A lot of people did not think she was a clown. We need those people to vote in the general election.

Especially considering that the first two paragraphs of the comment mentioned, correctly, the classiness of Silbert and her organization. At the Convention, after the primary, and at pretty much all times during the race, Andrea really impressed me.

Why slam Goldberg again…The primary is over.

I hate to admit how important the money is–I wish the system was different. But it is what it is right now.

I also hate to admit how important it is to do things like stuffing envelopes, like we did last night. But it was a nice bunch of folks ’round the table, and we talked and stuffed our way to a major mailing. I think I prefer that to phonebanking, it seemed more tangible….
