on the “too far to the left” question and twisting it in to “inside outside” question.

As for the “race” question. It was not Patrick who brought it up… it was Keller. His very first question in the interview was basically “Do you think your race is an issue in the race”. Gotta love those dinks over at WTKK that twist what ever is said by anyone to make a particular candidate look bad.

Still very good job holding your own.

David, I just heard the tale-end of your radio gig. Let me tell you this story anecdotally.

I spent some time with Jim McGovern over the weekend, talking about Deval Patrick’s campaign. McGovern sat down with a bunch of “familiar faces” he’s known for a long time to share a little frustration and discouragment he’s had lately. He shared a story from that morning in which a man came up to Jim and told him, I can’t vote for your guy.” McGovern asked why not, thinking it’s going to be taxes or some issue like that. And the guy told McGovern, straight out, and I’m quoting McGovern,”It’s the color of his skin.” The guy went on to tell Jim that he wasn’t the only person out there who felt that way, too.

So, I don’t know what planet Michael Graham is on, but wherever you have people, you have bigotry. Will there be some people who won’t vote for Patrick because he’s black? Yes, indeed. Let’s hope, though, that those folks are few and far between.
when the bigot figures out that his choices are:
-the black guy
-the rich blonde from horse country
-the little ethnic store owner with a complexion darker than the black guy?

I hope the bigots are both
(a) too stupid to figure this one out
-and-
(b) too stupid to find their way to the polls on election day
How silly of me. Must have been the 1% milk in the coffee this morning.

Thanks to the wonders of internet streaming, I was able to hear you out here in the fathers NW corner of the commonwealth. you did a great job handling someone who, while pretty funny, also was both mindless a shameless in his recycling of Republican talking points. I called in and followed up on your comments by challenging Graham’s comments on electability. Was ready to take on his reply, too, but they cut immediately to yet another commercial. As an academic, I sometimes lament the remote and recondite character of professorial discusion. Nothing like a brief foray into talk radio to make the seminar room look appealing…
I used to listen to Jay Severin. While he could go off the deep end on right wing talking points, there were some very refreshing times where he would drop it all and do some first class political analysis. He knew his stuff, and I would wade through the drek to get to the goodies.

Graham is without any redeeming value.
