Mayor Murray far out raised both his opponents in the Lieutenant Governor race during the month of August. Mayor Murray has continued to emerge as the best candidate in the field of three. Murray has by far the strongest organization that spreads across that the state, has the clearest message, and furthermore has raised more money then either of his opponents since entering the race in December 2005. Not only has he raised the most, but has double the number of individual contributions compared to Andrea Silbert and three times as many as Deborah Goldberg. This past August Murray raised $147.934.73 compared to Silberts $111.196 and Goldbergs $49,439.87. Silbert has shown she is a good fundraiser, which doesnt surprise me since she was a fundraiser for John Kerry.
Since entering the race Mayor Murray has received over 3500 individual contributions compared to Andrea Silberts roughly 1500 and Goldbergs 800. It is important to remember both Deborah and Andrea were fundraising for this race a year before Tim entered. These numbers were calculated in early August and dont include the last half of this month.
A question I wonder about is where are Andrea and Deb? As I travel around the state to events from Fall River to Pittsfield I often wonder myself where Deb and Andrea are. I have been to democratic city committee breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinners and most often than not I have not seen either one, but I consistently see Murray. From the New Bedford Democratic Breakfast to the Marlboro Labor Day Parade (The Largest Labor Day Parade in the State) they are no where to be seen. Worse off Deb is afraid to debate! She wont be at tonights Jimmy Tingle event and she wont even be attending the debate hosted by the Democratic Party. She truly just wants to buy the race, and put in no effort to meeting actual voters.
HURRY HURRY VOTE FOR MURRAY

Andrea has raised plenty of dough to be competitive, Murray’s been playing catch up all along. Andrea is focusing now on voter outreach, as she has raised the money she needs to be competitive, so to perceive this month’s fundraising to be momentum shift is number one, not true and number two, not looking deep enough, as Tim desperately needs more dough for media. Deb’s a rich kid, so her trust fund spending unfortunately may be enough to shut the two good candidates, Andrea and Tim, right down. Her own hometown newspaper, the Brookline Tab, endorsed Andrea. Always says something when people who know you best don’t support you.

On your second point, of course Tim goes to all the insider events, like city committees and union meetings, that’s where his votes are. I can’t speak for Deb, she can’t even make half of the forums or debates, too busy not getting newspaper endorsements apparently, but Andrea has been all over the state throughout her campaign, but she focuses on voters and regions, not inside players who care more about career politics. Deval and Chris are a bit different, b/c they’re loaded, so it’s less of a “risk” for an insider/career pol/union to be with them. With Andrea, as an upstart candidate with middle-class lifestyle, rare is the politician or insider who has the courage to stand with this type of candidate.

You should mention that you’re paid staff on the Murray Campaign, just so people know.

I was in Pittsfield last night for the Berkshire Bergades and one State Wide Candidate was there…..Yup you guessed it Tim Murray……Not much of an insiders event…. I expected Andrea to be there given her family ties to the area, but she didnt even have anyone willing to speak on her behalf.
