Big day today south of the border. While we’re dickering around with the governor’s seat, in Rhode Island they’re making a decision that will have a real impact on the daily lives of all Americans — whether to help breathe life into the Senate by electing a Democratic majority.
Act One is today — the Republican primary between the wishy-washy-but-electable Lincoln Chaffee and the unelectable-but-principled Steve Laffey (no Deval Patrick jokes allowed). Feel free to use this thread to predict the results. Closest one wins…um, something.
I say :
Laffey 52%
Chaffee 47%

51-48. Th NRC announcement that they would concede the race if Laffey wins will swing it to Chaffee.

In a two-man race. I hereby pledge to vote for his preferred candidate in the primary.

Does anyone know where results are? I found this:

But all it’s showing me is zeros across the board. There seem to be results somewhere:

But I’d like to be able to see the source.

D–n Rhode Islanders…are we actually going to have to work for this Senate seat?

I was hoping it would be a “win five, get one free” deal this November.

On the front page we have one of the editors passively-aggresively calling Reilly supporters “rats”. Nice perspective.

I fixed it. Honestly, no offense intended, although I understand how someone might take it that way.

to the RNC and agree to vote with them from time to time.

I have so many people to thank! Where do I begin? First, I’d like to thank sabutai for commissioning this poll. I would also like to thank the BMG community for largely ignoring it, paving the way for an easy win. I would like to thank, Charley, for not calling us rats, Linc Chafee for being moderately acceptable, and, of course, Tom Reilly.

Thank you, all!
