Well, I’m happy to see Deval win. However, stay tuned for “this crazy liberal will raise your taxes” and “only the moonbats support Deval.” I can hear Gerry Callahan and Co. already.
Are people that stupid? Is every freakin Republican campaign the same formula?
It seems to have worked every time for the past 16 years.
Please tell me it won’t work with Healey.
Please share widely!

I’d have the perfect ad for Deval. It won’t work in the real world, for sure. But in a world where people actually think, it’d be perfect.

Start with a shot of my hometown on a nice sunny day like today:
<
p>
“This is Peabody. A city on the north shore, middle and working class, where 45,000 citizens wake up every day, go to work and school. It’s a true melting pot and one of the reasons Massachusetts is a great place.”
<

Shift of scene.
<
p>
“This is Peabody, in May of 2006.”
<
p>
Scene shows the 8 feet of water. The submerged downtown. The stranded cars. The flooded buildings. The National Guard in the streets.
<

Shift of scene, Deval in front of the camera:
<
p>
“If you think taxes are the most important issue in this campaign, you haven’t been to Peabody.”

It’d never work, but, man, I’d jump up and down in glee.
