Kicking off a full day of campaign maneuverings, three of the gubernatorial candidates this morning had several pointed exchanges during an hourlong debate sponsored by the AARP.
At one point, the group of 700 senior citizens with canes and gray hair drowned out Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey with boos as she tried to criticize Democratic candidate Deval Patrick on taxes.
“You will see your taxes go through the roof if you have a Democrat in the corner office, Democrats in both the House and the Senate,” Healey said before being cut off by boos from the crowd.
“I’m sorry, but it’s true,” she said.
“We have got to put down all this partisan hate-mongering and baiting each other and start coming together to solve real problems,” Patrick said in his closing statements.
She’s like a gambler who can’t stop no matter how much she loses. She’ll reach A-Rod-like unpopularity here and still be convinced that all she needs to do is make the next ad more forceful and she’ll win it all back.

The imagery from the article is great. Kudos to those on the staff who have done such a good job of getting the message out.

She makes John Silber look warm and cuddly by comparison.
I’m going to lowball it with 55% – 60%. Nice tune up. You always want to get booed off the stage when you are practicing your lines in front of an audience before a debate. Poor Muffy, maybe she could put an elderly person in the green grainy video walking in the parking garage.
NECN has an online news story about the event, but unfortunately they didn’t show that piece.
Hysterical.

Healey tries to squash them by saying something like, “Oh, don’t boo…” but it was truly laughable. I can just imagine the mystified look on her face….
More like arrogant, incredulous and pissed.

This wicked Queen is too warm, cuddly, and likable in relation to Muffy. Please don’t defame Disney with comparisons to Muffy.
