There were a few stories in last week’s newspapers that were overshadowed by Deval’s claim he wants nothing to do with Ben LaGuer.
Let’s see. There was the poor bastard in Marlboro who spent over 10 years in prison for a rape he did not commit. There was the conviction for the murderer of a Needham woman. Unfortunately another guy spent months in jail on that one until he was cleared. Then I read a review on John Grisham’s new book. His first non-fiction book. That too is about a man who spent years and years in prison for a rape and murder he did not commit. None of these stories were on the front page.
But yesterday there was a front page story in the Globe about a letter sent by Boston’s on Nancy Grace a.k.a. Wendy Murphy to Deval Patrick.
Here’s a quote from the letter;
“We challenge you to take a hard look at your own conduct in this case and ask yourself why at every opportunity you took the side of the violent offender over that of the victim,”
That’s right Wendy. If they didn’t do anything wrong they would not have been arrested.

Apologies to Dan Conley. In my zeal to blame him for all the worlds problems I jumped the gun and challenged Dan Conley to directly indict Brett Myers after his case was dismissed by a district court judge. I did not realize the dismissal was pursuant to an “accord and satisfaction” submitted to the court. Under the laws, a judge has the discretion to dismiss the case with prejudice if a accord and satisfaction is submitted to the court. Meaning the victim has agreed to drop the charge in exchange for some consideration. The consideration does not have top be monetary. This is only allowed in assault and battery cases where a civilian is the victim. Not allowed if you beat up a cop.
Sorry Danno

My mistake above outlines why you can’t trust blogs. Also Wikipedia should not be relied on. I find it amusing that there are posts on BMG asking for people to help write the article about our little gubernatorial race here. Boy, I would really trust that.

What’s the Globe to do when the Red Sox suck and arent in the playoffs? Why run a feature story on Tom Werner and his new sitcom. Then, in the same Sunday edition, run another feature story on the front page of the business section about John Henry and the red sox interest in NASCAR.
Gee, I was curious to see which network bought Werner’s new show. As we all know, TV shows are crap shoots. Tom Werner’s had failures. And many new shows are competing to get picked up by a network for one of the precious and few prime time spots.
But anyway, NBC is giving Werner’s new show a chance. You know, the same network for which Dick Ebersol is a senior v.p. Remember last spring when Tom Werner grabbed a piece of the Esplanade, wrote a few checks, and had it named after Ebersol’s son who was sadly killed in a plane crash. You know, the New York Ebersols. Not the Boston Ebersols. Tom was never thinking of his new show last spring when he alone spearheaded the drive to build the ball field.

I can’t wait to the New York Times sells the Globe back to local ownership. Too bad though, the NYT will get to keep the World Series Rings.

Joan Vennochi summed up Mitts Im better than everyone attitude yesterday. Describing why Romney does not give Healy much respect, Joan wrote that it was due to what people around Romney describe as his ego, elitism, and insular network of family and associates from Bain & Company.
The Wendy Murphy comment I agree with. Isn’t she the former Assistant US Attorney that you see a lot on cable news programs?
<
p>
She does have that Nancy Grace thing going, I think her self-righteous scowl outdoes even Nancy.
The best she can give is an Assistant District Attorney
The Globe must love her. You’d think after repeatedly using her comments in this gubernatorial race, they would provide some background on Wendy, like how she’s been criticizing Patrick during the Primary.
Even her colleagues at the Women’s Bar Association can’t stand her (but don’t tell anyone).
<
p>
The most interesting thing about her was that she is a former Patriots cheerleader. What a feminist!
that is why you don’t see links, good editing, gooder grammar, betar speling, and real fact checking.
Don’t trust a blog!!
…because you didn’t have a ‘More than the Globe’ choice!

BTW – after the worthless Sox go down in flames again – WHY DON’T THEY WRITE ABOUT THE MOST OUTSTANDING FOOTBALL DYNASTY SINCE THE DALLAS COWBOYS?
<
p>
The Pats are 4-1, going into the bye, and Lawrence Moroney is a blazing STAR!
<
p>
Or do they only cover CRICKET as an alternative sport to the dreary, unravelled, faded Pink Sox?
Only Republicans like football. What with all of the violence and military metaphor, not to mention the eating of flamed meat in the parking lot, and the existence of cheerleaders. Can’t expect Morrisey Blvd to cater to that demographic.
