This just in, from Patrick/Murray HQ:
Campaigns for change can often have a defining moment: a moment where the politics of oldof divisiveness and fearare exposed for what they are; a moment where people of all backgrounds come together to demand a new and better way; a moment where a candidate rises up and calls for change, a change people feel is necessary for all of us to move forward.
This Sunday, October 15, Massachusetts and this campaign will have such a moment, but only if you participate. It will be the same kind of moment we experienced last March, when 2,500 people jammed in and around Faneuil Hall.
Deval Patrick and Tim Murray call on anyone who is tired of the cynicism, the distortions, and the finger pointing, to join them at a rally for change….
Deval Patrick and Tim Murray
Rally for Change
Sunday October 15, 2006
2:30 PM
Boston Common, Boston MA
(bandstand near Tremont Street)
There you have it, folks: this Sunday, 2:30 pm, Boston Common. Weather’s supposed to be nice. Bring your friends, bring the kids, bring anyone you can think of who’s tired of (to quote a BMG denizen) bidness as usual.
Let’s show Kerry Healey and her minions what a real political movement looks like.
Does anyone know how many funerals Kerry Healy has attended for Massachusetts service people killed in Iraq? How many families has she met with?
<
p>
She is on the record supporting the Bush administration:
<
p>
“I support our administration, as you know,” she said during the interview.”
<
p>
http://www.boston.co…
<
p>
Has she taken the time to face the consequences of this administration?
<
p>
She is running to be in command of the Massachusetts National Guard, no?
Anybody heading in from Worcester who might have a free seat in their car? Mine’s busted, and until Tim Murray is LG and busting big railroad/MBTA heads I still have a horrible Sunday commuter rail schedule to contend with.
<
p>
Let me know by replying here or email me… robargeATgmailDOTcom. I’ll gladly throw down for gas.
Some of us will be heading TO Worcester for a meeting. ;P
The rally comes first!
PDM had a meeting scheduled for the same day as the Faneiul Faneiel Faneuil Hall rally. It’s a weird coincidence.
<

I keep trying to think of how we can do both, but unless we get the cloning thing figured out between now and Sunday, we’re screwed.
it should be rescheduled, and everyone instructed to attend the rally instead. Patrick/Murray needs you guys there.
Unless you’re discussing the fate of the world and can’t hold off a week, go go GO to the rally. We need every body and everybody, and we certainly need the Lynne’s and Susan’s, the Charley, David and Bob’s, and all of those people that comment and read here. Not to be overdramatic, but this is our Million Man March. This season stretches beyond MA. This is the best chance Dems have had and probably will have for awhile to reinvent and re-establish our foothold.
<
p>
Please be there…Lynne, Susan, and everybody. Let’s rally for change.
Bye week. Nice planning.
we were trying to take advantage of the “bye” to do a phone bank from 1-3, we’ll just revise a bit …
<
p>
and the following week, they play at night (Monday?)
<
p>
and the week after that as well …
<
p>
The NFL Scheduler must be a Democrat!
1) Fire up the base to work on the campaign through election day.
<
p>
2) And remind the pundits (and Healey) what the Patrick organization can do.
<
p>
3) Provide a strong media/photo opp that sends a message of strength and momentum, rather than the image of a campaign playing defense.
I will be out of town, but I am deeply envious of anyone who can make it.
<
p>
Kerry Healey can spend every last dollar of AMG’s portfolio, but she can’t do a rally like we will on Sunday. She simply has no answer to that.
<

I look forward to seeing the event on DevalPatrick.tv!
I wish I could go to this. I just got off the phones tonight and I have to admit, I’m flagging a bit and there’s still almost 4 weeks to go. I bet a big whoop-de-do rally would be just what I needed to re-energize.
