According to the Globe “Earlier in the day, several prominent Republicans who support Patrick held a news conference at the Statehouse. The list included several officials from the administration of former Gov. William Weld, including Administration and Finance Secretary Mark Robinson, former Economic Affairs Secretary Gloria Larson and former Environmental Affairs Secretary R.J. Lyman.”

There are media reports in other parts of the country that misread the same phrase. I did a Google search a couple of hours ago and found the error, though they seem to be corrected.

Looks like Associated Press goofed, then sent out a second story without explicitly correcting the first. Not a great performance, AP.
