Alas, I missed it — real job obligations intervened. From the press reports, it looks a lot like the others: everyone got in some decent lines, there was the occasional contentious exchange, no one belly-flopped, and everyone walks out pretty much where they were when they walked in. Only big change, I gather, is that crime and Ben LaGuer were nowhere to be seen. Surprise, surprise.
That seem about right? What say those of you who saw it?

I just didn’t really care. The news out of NJ was more important for me today and made me feel proud that I am a resident of such a great state.

Most folks at my office just want it to be over today. They’re sick of Healey, and just want to get on with their lives. I guess the concern for Deval from that is people tune out. I know I’m not as jazzed up as I would be if it were closer.
Be patient.
He would cut Grace Ross off, and let Muffy ramble on forever!
and pretty much what could be expected with Keller moderating (read: stiffing Grace Ross at Karl-y Healey’s benefit throughout) and Healey almost 30 points behind.

Healey rhetorically admitted that Patrick would win at one point, talking about the buzz on Beacon Hill this week about a Patrick win because he would rubber stamp the spending requests for special interests.
Keller really screwed over Grace Ross tonight, did anyone else notice that?
<

“Okay, we go to Miss Ross and then we move on…”
<
p>
How many times did Keller say this and then completely “forget” about Ross? Mihos was so disenfranchised tonight that he looked and felt like he’s given up.
<

Keller gave the people a two and a half person debate… and the voters lose due to it. For someone who’s advocated for the four person debate over the months, Keller sure could have fooled me tonight with his flagrant bias.

Total BS.
I didn’t catch that Ross didn’t get a chance to respond to things. Maybe I was too busy scribbling.
Several times she was frozen out; she usually got to make an initial response, but then often wouldn’t get a chance — despite, as others have noted, Keller repeatedly saying, “All right, ten more seconds and then we go to Ms. Ross” — to get in on the discussion again. Keller also allowed the arguments over Healey’s (especially) and Mihos’s questions to the other candidates to eat up enough time that no room was left for either Patrick or Ross to ask the others a question.
Grace Ross was the only person he consistently cut off for time constraints. He occasionally tried to stop Healey from talking, but gave up when she kept going. When Ross tried to do the same thing, he kept interrupting her until she finally stopped talking.

He also let Healey ask the other candidates 2 questions, which then didn’t leave time for Patrick to even ask one.
I can’t believe I’m STILL up at 3am…..somebody want to explain to me why Grace Ross is ALWAYS on the last podium away from Healy? Has anyone else noticed that? If it’s the luck of the draw, Kerry Healy is the luckiest blank-ety-blank in the Commonwealth and Garce has the worst. I refuse to believe that senario.

I’m going out on a small limb here, but I’ve spent a career studying facial expression and body movement – Deval seems to be the only one listening to what Grace Ross has to say…..she’s a rather intelligent woman and I believe that Deval will find a place for her somewhere in the Administration, if she wants to be truly a part of change in MA. I saw one exchange where he was really absorbing every word.

Remember how he said that all ideas are welcomed, and it makes him a better leader? Just my observation, but I think it could happen…..I think she’d be a great Sec. of HHS….

I missed the beginning, the public bus was late, got stuck in the mass exodus from the DCU center.

Anyone know who’s moderating the final debate? And the format?

Barb in Worc.
it’s possible that the debate people go with alpha order from left to right… they could switch it up, though, I agree. Gets boring otherwise…
Last night it certainly was alphabetical order — Healy, Mihos, Patrick, Ross — but they have been switched up in previous debates, so it isn’t always alpha…
Based on what I have seen, I don’t know if Grace would be a good administrator. However, she would be a dynamite state representative. She’s full of ideas, and would be a great addition to a body that thrives on inertia. However, she will never get there as a greenie. Come on, Grace. Come join PDM and the Democrats, and help move the big party forward.
