Things must be getting really desperate in Massachusetts Republican circles. The day dawned with news that skinhead supporters of Kerry Healey besieged the suburban home of Patrick Campaign Manager John Walsh yesterday morning and shouted epithets at his 12-year old son Coleman who was alone at home getting ready for school. The Healey campaign has not condemned the tactic.
Now regressive blog Hub Politics, perhaps like those proverbially last to depart a sinking ship, has forsaken the Healey campaign and assumed an unexpected role as an advisor to the Patrick campaign. On 14 October, the site noted that Patrick’s blog had not been updated. The campaign subsequently updated the blog. Today, Hub Politics claimed credit for the change. “Is this another example of Hub Politics exuding influence on the Deval Patrick campaign? I think so,” editor Aaron Margolis wrote today.
Skinheads on the one hand, your biggest fans cravenly pandering to your rival, and millions of dollars of your husband’s money the only thing really keeping your campaign afloat (except for the firm support of Dick Cheney) … a tough morning at Healey HQ one imagines.
I haven’t the slightest idea whether the Klandidate approved of their demonstration or not, but it was a picture perfect representation of Klandidate Healey’s Klanpaign.
What I find amusing is that the sub-literate folks at Hub Politics claim that they were “exuding influence on the Deval Patrick campaign”. They exude something all right, but it sure isn’t influence.

I believe the word Aaron was searching for was “exerting”.
