Hi everybody! I’m back from a week in (mostly) sunny Italy. You’ll be pleased to know that my old friend and esteemed co-blogger Bob’s wedding — the excuse for going — went off splendidly.
Italy is a long way to go for a wedding, so we made a vacation out of it, spending the first three days in Florence, and then heading for the hills of Tuscany, where the wedding was held on the grounds of a castle near the small town of Mercatale.
The setting could hardly have been more spectacular (perfect weather didn’t hurt either). Here’s the view from the castle toward the site of the ceremony:
And here’s the view from the site, looking back toward the castle:
I had the honor of officiating, so here’s an action photo of me administering the vows to the happy couple:
And here’s the three of us after all was said and done:
Bob and his bride, of course, are still in Italy and will be for another week or so. I’m back to regular posting now. Many, many thanks to Charley for his solo act holding down the fort in splendid fashion during what I gather was a pretty intense week.
Anyway, anything new going on here?
…and Deval’s at 42%.

Other than that, nothing big happened. :>)
I went to a couple of friends’ wedding on the Cape this weekend. Then last night I visited my parents and saw their photos from my cousin’s wedding in France last month (which I missed because it was the week before the primary). Weddings weddings everywhere!
This post confused my RSS reader with the following broken HTML:

I think that’s SoapBlox’s automatic HTMLization butting in where it shouldn’t – you probably just put two spaces in there, but you pasted it into a window and asked for SoapBlox to format for you. Wanna fix it?
[ugh! and then my comment got formatted, hiding the critical part. recommenting – I wish I could delete the other one.]
I deleted your first comment where the formatting didn’t work.
Welcome back, David. You didn’t miss much. Kerry Healey is still a lying, desperate candidate — in other words, it’s Tuesday. đŸ˜› Great pics!

Much respect and atta-boys to Charley! He did a kick-ass job of keeping the home fires burning. He rocked on radio and on TV (watch out, David! LOL) and made us all proud.
to the happy couple!
Bob’s wife certainly looks like a keeper! She’s georgous!

and I’m entirely too jealous of anyone who gets to go to Italy for a vacation of any sorts; what a place to have a wedding! That’s actually a brilliant idea… who wants a gigantic wedding with relatives you barely know, but feel forced to invite, when you could have a much smaller – but far more beautiful wedding at some exotic location?

I can picture myself getting married on the French Riviera very easily…
All the best to you. Married in Italy? envious Though we did get a 2-week honeymoon in Ireland…

As to what was missed, I dunno, just the end of the Republican party as we know it, here and nationally.

Oh, and I’m about to go off the deep end with my current schedule. Frankly, I am looking forward to a nice vaction in the looney bin once the election is over. ;P
