I just saw this article in the Globe this morning. In case you were curious about transportation issues (and it seems there are a few of us here) I though you might like to know:
Fund-raising letter may have violated law
T chief’s mother sought aid for GOP candidate
The general manager of the MBTA may have violated campaign finance laws because a fund-raising letter from his mother repeatedly cites his name while appealing for money for Reed Hillman, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor….….Laura Nicoll, a spokeswoman for the Healey-Hillman campaign, said the letter was an honest mistake…..
Breaking a clear state law = an honest mistake.
MBTA chief ♥ Healey-Hillman.
Such a short article, so much information.
Update by Charley:
Grabauskas-Caruso of Lehigh Acres, Fla., said her son approved the letter before she mailed it to potential donors.
“Of course,” she said. “Dan’s my son.”
Wow. Thanks a lot, Mom.
Did he use the T to visit any of the 351 cities and town in his recently completed On the Road with Reed? Has anyone read that blog? The guys who visit all major league baseball stadia offer more insight into the communities and the issues they face than we see from his photo-journey.
