From last Sunday’s Nashua Telegraph:
Poll: Hodes ahead
The latest independent poll has startling news for six-term Republican U.S. Rep. Charles Bass: Hes trailing Democratic rival Paul Hodes.
Hodes led Bass 48 percent to 39 percent with the other 13 percent undecided in the Becker Institute Inc. poll taken Oct. 6-8.
Statewide, the survey of 408 registered voters has a margin of error of 5 percent, but within a congressional district the number is much higher.
But Hodes will take it. That can only help his chances of getting some significant Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee money behind his candidacy.
Hodes is on the Red-to-Blue list of candidates as well as independent ratings of the Top 30 House races in the nation.
Bass was viewed unfavorably (40 percent) by nearly as many voters as viewed him favorably (43 percent), and that is never where an incumbent wants to be.
This is by far the worst image recorded for Charlie Bass through 12 Becker Institute readings over the past seven years, the poll summary said.
If Hodes wins, it’d be a HUGE pickup in the ever-bluer state of New Hampshire. Give him a hand.

There is a huge advantage for Democrats winning seats in New England this round. Once we win them, we’re likely to keep them for a very long time. Think about how the Massachusetts delegation turned blue and has stayed blue. If “moderate” Republicans can keep seats in NH-02, CT-02, CT-04, and Ct-05 through many terms, Democrats can keep those seats even longer. This is the year when the incumbent advantage has shrunk.

It’s also the year that the Rethuglicans made a monstrous mistake. They hitched their wagon to the thuggishly stupid “Stay the Course”. You can get video clips of Rethuglicans everywhere repeating this idiot slogan. But no sentient being believes “Stay the Course” makes any sense. Add to that that polling shows that it is a loser — get this — even in the South.

that the same poll had Carol Shea-Porter only trailing Jeb Bradley 49 to 37. I hope both Democrats have continued to improve their name recognition and increase their voter base. It would be great if Hodes does win…and about time that New Hampshire had a Democratic congressman.

Remember, our own Congressman Lynch also voted this summer to “stay the course,” which renders moot his alleged support for a phased pull-out.

and throw some love Ned Lamont’s way at the same time. We’re now at $1110 on the BMG for (mostly) out of state races. Is it time for a pledge drive here as well?
roboy3 says
That’s my answer to the pledge drive question. Earlier I made a post for Joe Courtney in the CT-2 who is cash strapped but holding on to a slim lead despite WITHERING attacks.
<

Now is definitely the time to run a pledge drive. We need to get these people MONEY.

HOWEVER, I find it personally demoralizing that as I struggle to give $25 here and $25 there to support these out of state candidates, Marty Meehan sits on a war-chest so that he can run for Senate when Kennedy or Kerry retires or leaves.
<
p>
We should do more to pressure Meehan to think for the good of the party and cough up a million.
<
p>
What a shmuck. Can’t he see that were he to throw a million the party he could be a much bigger player.

Wish Capuano would move to Lowell.

I just gave something to Hodes–would love to see a Dem representing NH!

Please please please please please…

Throw the bum OUT, Hodes!

No one has ANY idea how excited I would be to see my home state send a Dem to the Congress…NO one. Almost better than seeing Deval win governor, despite the fact I’m working my a$$ off for Deval.

I left NH for a few reasons, a nasty Boston commute being one of them, but I was never sorry to go. Make me sorry I ever left, Paul Hodes!!
