Patrick’s record on crime vs. Healey’s as so-called “criminologist”

October 13, 2006 By mlek

At an extremely successful LGBT fundraiser last night, Deval’s talk unveiled a new ad we’ll see soon in which he talks crisply and definitively — without sinking into Healey’s gutter — about his record vs. Healey’s on “crime and criminals.”

Deval spoke eloquently decisively about how her record as a so-called “criminologist” is laughable compared with his as a prosecutor of real crimes, how violent crimes/homicides are up to record levels under Romney/Healey because they drastically reduced the number of cops on the street, how she talks about her support for the sex-offender register but her administration chopped funding for it, how he’s the only one in the race actually to put someone behind bars.

It’s sad that the defining point in the race for governor is down to who’s better at locking people up, but Patrick is striking back and his new ad should be quite powerful.
