The campaign and most pundits believe that Lowell will be as pivotal to the Massachusetts gubernatorial race as Ohio often is in presidential elections; in fact, Lowell is the only city or town that Patrick lost in the primary.
With that as background, the campaign wants to pull out all the stops on this one and put an exclamation point to the vigorous, positive, and uplifting campaign that Deval and we all have waged for oh so long now.
The campaign hopes that thousands of cheering supporters will turn out to help Deval and Tim Murray roar into the election. So please make every effort to join Deval and Tim at the rally at the Lowell High School gymnasium from 2pm-3pm, and ask friends and family members to join you. If they’re still undecided (hard to believe), this event will give them a great opportunity to hear and meet Deval.
To hold signs and/or volunteer for other event activities, please be at the gym between 12:30pm-1pm. For more information, contact Anita Saville at asaville@comcast.net and 978-256-8172.
Sunday, November 5th, 2pm-3pm
Doors open at 1:30pm

Actually Deval only lost Lowell to Reilly by about 75 votes…but his results were less convincing in other cities where he lost by wider margins on primary day…Peabody, Revere, Everett, Stoneham, Methuen, Winthrop, Wilmington, Woburn, Stoneham, Tewksbury,Saugus, Walpole, W. Bridgewater, Norwood, Milford…

So after the Lowell Rally in Middlesex County ends at 3:30, follow Tim Murray to Rte 114 and go south into Essex County to the 4 PM North Shore Victory Rally on Peabody Commons on Lowell Street…he will be meeting up with Democrats from Lynn, Salem, Peabody,Danvers, Beverly, Gloucester and all North Shore towns in between…Congressman Tierney, our State Reps and Senators, Mayors and other Statewide candidates will be on deck for a fun and boisterous outdoor event!

As Essex County goes, so goes the Commonwealth…(just ask Mitt Romney)…but we are not going to let that happen again!!!

And Deval made a couple of trips to Lowell on Friday: Once at the Boys and Girls Club to pick up a couple more police endorsements, and then appeared briefly at a community event arranged by former City Councilor Rithy Uong. Good move on Deval’s part to reach out to the Cambodian community in Lowell. (I was there, too. The place was packed, and seemed very enthusiastic.)
