Can we Ditch the Flashing .gif File?

I have long thought that Bush was the worst president ever, and I am glad to see somebody marketing the idea, but how long do we have to have that unbelievably annoying yellow/red/yellow/red flashing advertisement in the right hand column. IT IS AWFUL! A decent picture like that should flash twice (if at all) then just stop.

    There is, however, something you can do:

    1.  Be sure you’re using Firefox as your browser (it’s free – download it if you haven’t already).  It’s much better than IE anyway (don’t know how it compares to Safari).

    2.  Right-click on the offending image, and select “block images from img.blogads.com”

    3.  Refresh the page (or possibly close and restart your browser) and voila — no more annoying flashing ad (or any other ad images).

    • If I wanted to look at a spasmodic, banal attempt to pound a message into my brain I’d read one of the zillion reruns of the ConCon thread.

        • For a while I was using only Lynx at home when I had a 2400 baud modem, about ten years ago.  Truly useful sites are fine with Lynx.
