The Orlando Sentinel gets kudos for reviewing the 17,000 plus mystery ballots in Sarasota County (part of Katherine Harris’ old district) and finding that a strong majority of these ballots that showed no preference for Congress were, in fact Democratic votes. The Republican candidate has about a 400 vote lead currently, but this is yet another demonstration that if the intended votes had been recorded, most likely the Democrat, Christine Jennings would have won.
This will be an interesting one for the courts, which don’t generally overturn elections. The other question is what the US house will do.
