We all know that Rove has built his political machine on the backs of trial lawyers. He has tried to make the term trial lawyer an epithet, apparently forgetting some famous trial lawyers, like Adams and Lincoln.
Well, check out this story, which includes the valiant fight of a young woman who lost both of her parents in an explosion at a BP refinery, and who refused to settle and cave in to the demands that everything be kept confidential. BP had cut back on maintenance, apparently after calculating the cost of maintenance versus the cost of a few dead or maimed workers. BP caved on the eve of trial, paying her an undisclosed sum, but also paying millions to public facilities and charities, and still releasing documents discovered during the law suit. Good work Eva Rowe and her public spirited trial lawyers. Link to Globe story

Everybody hates lawyers, until they need a good one.

Rove and his pals have already made good use of lawyers to defend themselves. To my chagrin, it hasn’t been at a trial.
