As a fellow Brocktonian and candidate for Congress in the Ninth Congressional District (which includes Beacon Hill and your campaign HQ), I am pleased to endorse you in your race for Governor. Although a Republican, I can no longer condone the fear-mongering (racial, sexual, or regarding immigrants) waged by the Healey campaign.
Our campaign has over 1,000 lawn signs out in Brockton (more even than Patrick and much more than Healey). In the GOP primary, we received a higher percentage of votes in Brockton (99.06%) than Healey (92.4%), and we expect to easily outpoll her again in the general. Healey’s support in Brockton – even among Republicans – is soft. Our organization will work hard over the next couple of days to drive that support to you. Here are just some of the reasons why I am supporting your campaign:
* You will clean up Big Dig corruption, cronyism, and incompetence that has festered on the state level under Romney/Healey, while I will do the same in Washington as a result of similar lapses by Congressman Stephen F. Lynch.
* Your Proposition One will bring back over $330 million in much-needed local aid to Boston, Brockton and the rest of the Ninth Congressional District. I will supplement that with federal grants.
* You will work to lower taxes on the state and local level, while I will do the same on the federal level.
Regardless of the polls, I admire how you have waged a positive and issues-oriented campaign, as opposed to one based on fear and negativity. Good luck on Tuesday!
