I nearly fell off my chair listening to Kerry Muffy Healey’s closing statement in the UMass Dartmouth debate.
She said she supports MCAS as the graduation requirement. She also raised her charter school point to express her real agenda, stating that she wants non-union charter schools.
MCAS as THE graduate requirement? How true. Kerry Healey and James Peyser have made considerable points of how you can have higher MCAS scores and cut funding. You also cut eleventh and twelfth grade electives, music, art. That’s a bleak, low standard for high school graduation.
The NON-UNION charter schools also gives a true window into her administration’s policy of reducing funding for publicly governed school districts, at the same time rapidly expanding local aid garnishments for Commonwealth Charters.
I can’t wait until January 1 when we can get rid of that flock of turkeys that has taken our government hostage.
