The mix of local, state and national politics is great with some occasional international flavor, humor [http://www.bluemassg…] and various other categories. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a bloggothemonth? Criteria could be easily spliced from Rules of the Road and serve as a teaser to new users looking for a BMG taste?

I suggest you cull some candidate posts, and put up a poll at some predetermined date each month.
Yes, post of the month…thanks for the correction and the idea for the poll. I have no experience with poll techniques but enjoy unchartered territory. Any possibility of adding instructions to “Formatting tips?” Looks like a learning opp.

I think it would be more helpful for the editors to write a monthly “what went on at BMG” post than to select a single post (thread?) as the “best” one. Something tells me that even with a poll, it will never be an actually useful post that is highlighted, like one of my 6’5″, 235 pound, laser, rocket arm posts, for instance. So, as long as it is going to reflect some BMG bias, why not just write a column that can be as biased as it wants to be? It could say “last month we had some good threads on climate change here, made some progress on civic engagement here, etc…”
