UPDATE: And, to those of you who were looking for some interactivity, ask and ye shall receive!
Governor Deval Patrick will host a live monthly call-in feature entitled “Ask the Governor” beginning on Thursday, February 8th, from 1pm-2pm during the Eagan & Braude Show on 96.9FM TALK-WTKK in Boston.
The feature will be heard the first Thursday of each month. Listeners will have the opportunity to e-mail, fax or call-in their questions on timely issues impacting the citizens of Massachusetts during the show, which is hosted by Boston’s very own Margery Eagan and Jim Braude.
In addition, 96.9FM TALK-WTKK will make the feature available to any media outlets wishing to carry it live on the air.
Cool.
It would be great if they could integrate voicemail questions from folks from time to time and have the Gov answer them in the podcast.
Browsing WordPress plugins for my own blog, I came across this really nifty interactive idea, maybe something the Patrick admin can use to make the podcasts go two ways:

the plugin specifically for WordPress (I don’t know what the Patrick audioblog is using) is here.
This is very cool…
for those that can afford it. I think that the main connection should be the one that reaches the most people and is free. (obviously for those that have internet.

It might be nice if Mr. Braude & NECN, or any local station would grant time to the Governor for a weekly update show. (Non call in ) but perhaps answer emails from the prior week.

People actually seeing him might have a better effect especially for those poor and elders that can’t afford the high cost of technology.
I am far from a supporter of the current governor but I think this is great. The idea of communicating with the people in the format that the most interest people are now using, blogs, pod casts and talk radio, is just great (no other words for it). If Deval could do this and keep his promise for tranparency in government he might win me over. Not to the point where I would vote for him, he will have to show some fiscal conservatism for that, but then again, no one seems to doing that these days.
