Has anyone got the roll calls?
Please share widely!
cos says
I called MassEquality and they don’t have the list of who voted for the amendment, and doubt they’ll have it today in time to do anything useful with it. They urge us all to call our legislators to ask them to vote in favor of Rushing’s motion to reconsider.
david says
’cause God forbid the legislature should provide the public with trivial information like who voted which way on the amendment in a timely fashion.
steverino says
according to the person I spoke to in his office. Other offices aren’t answering.

Travaglini’s office is getting flooded with calls, from the sound of things.

I am hearing that AP is working on a roll call and will have it momentarily.

for the ConCon to resume. boston.com has a survey (Should lawmakers vote?) with its story “Mass. lawmakers vote
on gay marriage.”
<
p>
So far the “No. Gay marriage is a civil right not subject to popular referendum.” is leading.

Sigh.

couldnt find the poll, where is it on the site?
matthew02144 says
3:31 p.m. — A recount of the vote to recess, according to the Senate clerk’s office, shows that lawmakers did not, in fact, vote to recess. The vote was 101 against recessing and 94 for it.
steverino says
Trav was twisting arms to prevent the recess.

Out of his concern for process, no doubt.

David you had mentioned something in a comment today about the likelihood of switching votes because some of the real haters are gone. I think the number you threw out was 55 votes for the amendment with the understanding that 3-4 of them would be leaving for the next vote. Now that we see a vote of 61 in favor of it instead of changing one or two votes as you had suggested we will need to convince eight or nine to change their votes. So it seems that one of your justifications for supporting the vote has completely gone out the window. What are your thoughts on this? (I should be fair and not single you out David, sorry, I know a lot of people were doing this math as well.)
cos says
Note that the people voting today are the old legislature, including some lame ducks who will be gone tomorrow. It’s possible that David’s 55 referred to the new legislature that we voted in a couple of months ago but that is not yet in office.
