I want to extend an invitation to all you Mass folk’s, considering we used to be Massachucetts up until 1820, to come join me at Turn Maine Blue. Currently we are focusing on LD 203, a bill proposed by Republican Rep. L. Gary Knight that would prevent Maine students from claiming residency at their school here in Maine. This bill would disenfranchise so many Maine college students, solely based on the fact that they goto college in a town other than the one they were raised in. The House is holding a public hearing today, and one of our contributors, mainefem, is attending this hearing and will provide information later tonight about the hearing.
Also we are covering the ever-growing ME-1 House race, which currently has at least four legitimate candidates announcing their candidacy. And last but not least, we’re covering Susan Collin’s each and every move. And just this week, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe were named co-chairs of John McCain’s exploratory committee here in Maine.
So again, I welcome you all to come join us, and I look forward to being involved here at the Blue Mass Group. Thanks!

or it would be a shade between blue and purple. Right now, we’re purple when it comes to our congressmen in Washington. I want them all to be blue.

The half-serious part is this: what do you do if you do rid yourself of Collins? Just fold up and go home? There was some concern that BMG might do that once Deval Patrick got elected governor, so the question isn’t without some history.

theres another Senate race in 2010. TMB isnt just about Susan Collins, but she is what made me start it.

Would have been nice to give Chellie Pingree an extra boost against Collins.

It’s great to see that BlogPAC is really getting aggressive when it comes to getting state level blogs running. I think the idea is great, and I hope soon we’ll have blogs in all 50 states with a platform like SoapBlox

I spent election days 2004 and 2006 out of state doing GOTV. I’m expecting to be away from home 2008, too. I think lots of us in Massachusetts would like to be part of turning New England the deep shade of blue it should be. I was in Enfield, CT helping with the narrowly victorious Courtney campaign and there were lots of us Bay Staters knocking on doors. We are underutilized.

I’ve long felt that taking down a Senator as popular as Collins (or Snowe) was going to be a multi-year effort.

and hard battle against Collins. She has the high approval ratings behind her, and it’s going to be really hard to bring those down, while at the same time bringing up the Democratic candidates. That’s why I’m getting started early, and I’m hoping people will come and join. I really can’t do it all by myself.

Worked for Bush in Lewiston and Rockland in 2004, and for Olympia as well. Did some sign holding for Chan Woodcock, too, on weekends.
