I can tell you’re getting more confident with these things. Keep on talkin’!

I am waiting for more people to say on TV what people are saying on the street.

Enough with pundits and presidents whining about what will happen “if we don’t win” in Iraq.
<
p>
News flash: We already lost.
<
p>
We’ve been beaten. Whupped. Owned. The United States of America, with the world’s most heavily-funded military, has had its ass handed to it on a silver platter.
<
p>
We failed to accomplish every single objective that we set out to achieve. There were no WMDs. We did not bring democracy to Iraq. We did not kick Al Qaeda out of Iraq; in fact, we brought them in, for the very first time.
<
p>
There are no “alternatives.” The patient is already dead and getting moldy.
<
p>
It’s time to get out. Leave.
<
p>
And while only Dennis Kucinich may be saying that in Washington, it’s what the majority of the rest of the country have said in poll after poll.
<
p>
Next time you’re on TV, please bring your fellow guests a clue pill.
for speaking up against that false talking point from the Wrentham Wrepublican: “The Democrats don’t have an alternative.” That is rubbish, and you brought up Murtha’s redeployment plan and Webb’s call to move our troops off the streets of Iraq.
Yes, Democrats have introduced plans, here’s two… * It’s the POTUS’ job to win the war, not that of Congress
<
p>
additionally, you looked good. Nice suit, good hair, a really great smirk/grin when they introduced you. Top notch.
<
p>
Those were both outstanding. Two things that distracted me: * sometimes you looked up (with your eyes only) when you finished speaking. Was there a monitor up there? * Um. It’s hard to get it out of the system completely, and it wasn’t terrible by any stretch. Speaking without using non-words is really hard and takes practice, so keep working on that. (This one is just a pet peeve).
<
p>
On a side note, why do GOP, media, and Dems consistently embrace this notion that “the Dems don’t have a plan”. It’s crap. We’ve introduced tons of plans. We as Dems don’t force each other to walk lockstep on these plans, but come on. This meme that the Dems obstruct but offer no plan is ludicrous.
Charley, you’re plenty smart and have lots of opinions, but let it rip!
<
p>
You’re WASPier than I am if that’s your idea of acting out and being hot under the collar.
<
p>
Calling George the Lesser “just a little bit nuts” and saying “It’s up to the President to get the policy right,” are not inflammatory and overly emotional. Given the circumstances, those are very mild ways of putting it.
<
p>
No one’s going to disregard your argument if you raise your voice or even pound on the desk a bit. Do it, do it for the lefties!
Solid comments regarding Dems and the war, schooled Brown which is always nice, and I never knew you had a bit of a Boston accent, not Kevin White thick, nor even Tim Cahill thick, but a lot thicker than the sterotypical “liberal elitist” blogger, I like it.
That would be amusing, since I’m not home-grown. Upstate NY, maybe?

especially irked me.

It must be some kind of primitive thinking that believes one can win anti-insurgency efforts by blowing up more stuff. Everything I’ve seen suggests that Americans are too willing to shoot, and that partly explains why shooting Americans has become so popular among Iraqis — if the opinion polls are to be believed.
