So I checked out Mass.gov today, and here is something that I think is interesting.
Click on the Governor page and you immediately get an idea of what the new administration’s priorities are:
1. At the top are links for “Civic Engagement.” David, you should be pleased.
2. In the “Key Resources” box on the left, there’s information about:
– the Health Insurance Connector
– The Business Connect group in the Economic Development Secretariat
– The Terrorism Tipline/Fusion Center
Three worthy priorities, in my book, all essential functions of our current government at this point in history.
Also, in a box on the right, there’s a link to the Transition Working Group Reports – again, another GREAT idea.
KUDOS to the Patrick web team for such simple yet relevant decisions.

…worked overtime and in overdrive to redo mass.gov

But it didn’t take but a few clicks into the site until you come to things like this

I checked the site I’d have to say not 30 minutes after he took the oath of office (on a lark) and the change had already been made.

The only problem was that I hadn’t been there in so long I couldn’t be sure the change was made by Patrick’s people.

They are off to a great start. I’m sure with a some more time they will really transform the site into one of the best state sites.

I found this story to be very insightful. After reading this piece I went to the state AFLCIO website to see how they were responding. As you can see http://massaflcio.or…
The unions and other progressive interests have also upgraded their websites. It is refreshing to see the many faces of our state offering the vital information which is needed if we expect our democracy to thrive.

…with a format change (I use the site every day; in fact, I’m such a wonk it’s my home page on my home computer!). I had checked it as a lark at 2 pm, and it was still Mitt at that point.

The Insurance links and the Business and Terorism links have been up for a while – the only thing I’ve seen changed is the photos (hey, where’s Tim Murray?) and the Transition Team link.

Just the changes to the navigation and the look and feel are big improvements.
