Obama Smokes

I’m sorry. . . .but I just can’t endorse this guy.

I have a fealing that this guy is weak

Like a person who smokes and knows in his heart that he is doing the wrong thing (to his body, to his family/children, to his co workers) but is POWERLESS to change his course.  Whether by physical, or emtional will……

I am just not convinsed Obama can make the “Tough Decisions”  I see him choosing the easy way out.

      Obama chose to begin smoking, and continues to do so, in full knowledge that there is a strong chance it will shorten his life.  Note that I don’t feel this disqualifies his candidacy…most people have vices.

          Before my father died, I remember him telling me stories about when he came home from Vietnam, He was spit on when he walked through Logan airport…and the first taxi cab driver he approached refused to give him a ride home.  But what bothered him the most was people burning the flag in the name of free speech.  That really hurt him.

  3. Not to be a jerk, but just because someone smokes you’re not going to vote for them? What about a fat candidate? Are you going to vote for a candidate who’s overweight and doesn’t eat healthy? Their chance of a shortened life span is even better than a smoker. They have the choice to stop eating so much and exercise. This is a silly argument if you can’t tell.

    • I agree this is an absurd argument. Bill Clinton smoked cigars when he was elected (although smoking them turned out not be the real problem…)

      • Bill Clinton was famous for a gluttonous appetite and a penchant for Big Macs.  He had heart surgery in 2004 to auger out all the crap encrusting his arteries.  Should he have been disqualified back in 92?

          • I understand the distinction you make, especially as regards to smoking, but theologically and philosophically, will and desire are the same things.  The distinction we make between them is due to the confict between our lack of free will, and our need to believe in it.

It isn’t easy to quit, but I bet he does, somewhat publicly, and leads the way for thousands of others who will quit with him.  I like the fact that he smokes, I think it shows he’s not a wimpy nerd who has never never done anything wrong and who looks down on people as stupid.  It means he has friends.  Not smoking is a mild variant of aspergers.  Pass the pipe, Barry.

      remember Second hand smoke kills – that’s why Obama has to stand in the cold every time he lights up.  Because smoking is not allowed inside most public buildings.

      • If Obama killed people via second hand smoke, GOOD.  The only place I can think of where second hand smoke is really prevelant is a nightclub or some cheesy Vegas casino.  Serves them right!  Probably drinking their liver to death anyway.  It is never the smog from all the bitching people who got stuck in their cars the other day that kills people , is it?
        Grow up.  When is the last time you were “trapped” by second hand smoke?

  8. of lung cancer.  She smoked three to four packs a day…..camel filterless.
    Do you drink?  BAD.  Do you take recreational drugs…or prescription drugs for “anxiety”  Obama smokes…of course he does.  And where can one learn Farsi or Arabic around greater boston?
