…in the beginning of time (1970s) Bill Delahunt was a St. Rep. before he was a DA.

Thanks for the correction. Half were in the legislature then… not bad.

Rep. Harriet Stanley is in that Cong. District…not that she is considering this race, but most of the folks you listed aren’t either.
migraine says
Her bio page says that she was the Town Treasurer for Merrimack… a town that’s not in the district. Did she move?

Also, I have no prob with corrections but a “most folks you listed aren’t either,” like many of your comments on other diaries, isn’t particularly helpful.

was that as I stated in my original post, I’m aware that the vast majority are not running… I was just looking to figure out who could run.
hlpeary says
I meant to say Stanley already represented part of the District (Haverhill), not that she lived there…you don’t have to live there to run in a Congressional District…

Also…money in state accounts cannot be used for federal races…so what they have on hand could only be used for things like polling not specific to fed. race for example.

Sorry you do not like my posts.

I believe that state legislative office holders cannot use their state accounts for federal campaigns. I’m not 100% sure, so someone should check that. But I think they can only use them to test viability.

So the contest (should there be one) may actually be decided on merit and not on who starts off with the biggest war-chest.

When was the last time we saw that happen in Massachusetts?
