To every extraordinary person on BMG…The Mass. Commission on the Status of Women needs your help …there are thousands of Unsung Heroines in this state…you know more than a few of them!…So let’s start singing their praises and get them some recognition!!!!! (Deadline for nominations is March 1.)
Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women’s
Unsung Heroines of 2007 Initiative
They don’t make the news, they make the difference!
The Commission is searching for the Unsung Heroines of Massachusetts who we all know are doing remarkable things on a daily basis to make our communities better places to live and work.
It is their goal to honor one of these special women from each of the Commonwealth’s 351 cities and towns as their community’s Unsung Heroine of 2007. A State House Reception is planned for May 16, 2007. (Last year’s was awesome!)
These are the women living and working in your community who don’t make the news, but surely make the difference in their neighborhoods and communities. By singing their praises others are inspired to get involved locally to change things for the better for everyone.
They are distributing information on the Unsung Heroines of 2007 initiative to statewide media, to statewide groups and organizations, and through website links with supportive organizations.
Because the deadline for nominating is MARCH 1, timely action is required. They have made the process simple and pdf nomination forms easily downloadable from their website www.mass.gov/women. Any Massachusetts resident may nominate someone from their community. You are also welcome to reproduce the nomination form for distribution to your friends and colleagues.
This initiative surely highlights Community Engagement at its very best! Please help them find the Unsung Heroines in your community and sing their praise!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
