OK, so the Quick Hits thing seems to be a non-starter. I’ll take it down — there are no doubt better uses for the left sidebar real estate.
Now, on to another interesting topic: blog talk radio! This site allows anyone to run an internet-based talk radio call-in show, and lots of the cool kids are already doing it. It works just like regular talk radio — we can interview guests or just natter on ourselves, and there’s a call-in number for anyone to participate in the conversation. The difference, of course, is that you listen online rather than over the airwaves. The program streams live (via Windows Media Player, which also runs on Mac), and after the show is done it remains available as a podcast. We can schedule as many shows as we want, whenever we want.
So, if we had such a show and could get some interesting guests (which I think we could do), would you listen? Would you participate? If so, what would be good days and times? Should this be an evening thing so that people aren’t at work? [UPDATE: there’s now a front-page poll on this topic, at steverino’s suggestion.]
Thanks for your thoughts and ideas, as always!

I’ve been talking with various people for a while on creating a bay state lefty podcast for a while… so I’d definitely listen and like the concept of doing it live, then having it saved as a podcast – that’s kind of the best of both worlds.

Does it have to be either/or? A morning slot and an evening slot, with perhaps a weekend gig? Depending on the hosts (David?) availability and demand it seems possible to jump over the moon.

I would be psyched to hear a wide range of topics and speakers from historical perspectives of political movements, baystate centric issues, municipal perspectives, candidates, party (plural) platform discussions, energy to political satire/comedy and a zillion other topics.

Marge, Jim and Tom – BMG is comin’, comin’ today.

is a significant limiting factor. I doubt we’d be able to manage more than 1 show a week, at least in the early going. So it’s important for us to figure out when the most listeners and potential callers would be available.

I would vote for Sunday evening as the least conflicted, say about 9:00 PM – but what do I know? What do you all think as to that time frame – and who would host?
