PIMP MY GVOERNOR screens the headline, just a day after it is announce that Deval’s wife Diane is being treated for depression.
As one the poster’s on this diary points out, with cold-hearted conserative ice running through their vains:
He can always count on the compliant Boston media to bail him out. As in today, when both dailies plastered a very well-timed story on their front pages: Deval’s wife is depressed.
Well, we’re all depressed here in the People’s Republic.
How I hate the haters.
Please share widely!
and see all the white people on it.
Religious but humble you really talk like you are neither.
Frank, perhaps it would be of benefit for you to view, on occasion, the program “Pimp My Ride”. You would find that oftentimes, the people who are showcased on the show are of all different races. My particular favorite was a young white man who had a van that they put a couch and a plasma TV in the back of. I think If you watched that show a few times, you’d see that the reference was made about the upgrade from a Crown Vic to a DTS as opposed to the fact that Deval is black.

But yeah, if you want to skirt the issue by questioning my character, that’s fine.
People who are humble are rarely motivated to write on blogd where people they’ve never met can admire their knowledge and opinion.

“Pimp” and “pimping” have crossed over the racial line as mainstream terms — my students of all races use it regularly. It comes via hip-hop, true, but the term is now so widespread in mainstream culture that it’s becoming passe.

(Not that I’m happy about it, but wishing that to change hasn’t worked thus far.)
Frank – the conservatives do not have the cornerstone on meanness. I have seen ugly on both sides, and having participated in a few verbal pillow fights on this blog myself, I think you’re overstating it a tad. Apart from the fact that there are so few of them (I swear they caucus in phone booths) – why hate on them? Why not put that energy into something constructive, like figuring out that Republican gift that keeps on giving called Medicare, Part D. I’d give a king’s ransom for that. My dad is up the creek with this nonsense.
There are a lot of spittle-covered screens on the Left as well as on the Right, it seems to me.
…univeral health care…or certianly let’s get volume discounts from the drug companies.
One is reminded of the contrast, e.g. morality as empathy vs morality as strength.
